Editorial Policy

JP — Independent Journal

JP — Independent Journal is an independent publication dedicated to cinema, culture, and critical inquiry. This editorial policy defines the principles that guide our publishing decisions, standards, and responsibilities.

Editorial Independence

JP operates with full editorial independence. The journal is not affiliated with any production company, institution, political organization, or funding body. Editorial decisions are made internally, without external influence.

Scope

JP covers cinema, culture, and related critical fields, with an emphasis on context, power structures, censorship, and conditions of production. We prioritize depth over speed and analysis over promotion.

Editorial Judgment

JP does not claim neutrality as a posture. We recognize that cultural analysis exists within unequal structures. Editorial judgment is based on evidence, context, and critical responsibility not false balance.

Accuracy and Accountability

Factual claims must be verifiable.

Opinions are clearly identified as such.

Errors are corrected transparently and promptly when verified.

Conflicts of Interest

Contributors and editors must disclose any relevant conflicts of interest. When a conflict exists, it is either disclosed to readers or the editorial assignment is reassessed.

Contributors

JP publishes work by staff writers and contributors. Publication does not imply permanent affiliation. Contributors are credited on their published work; the masthead reflects editorial responsibility, not contribution volume.

Press Cards

Press cards issued by JP identify individuals authorized to represent the journal for specific editorial purposes. Press cards do not grant legal authority or unrestricted access and may be revoked in cases of misuse or ethical breach.

Submissions

JP accepts submissions and pitches aligned with its scope. The editorial desk reserves the right to edit, reject, or request revisions. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Corrections

JP maintains a public corrections policy. Verified factual errors are corrected with a dated note explaining the change.

Conduct

JP does not tolerate plagiarism, misrepresentation, harassment, or unethical reporting practices. Violations may result in removal of content, revocation of press credentials, or termination of collaboration.
